My name is Geoffrey Smith. I was born in the United Kingdom in 1951, a time of great change and high hopes. The UK was just starting to come out of the after effects of the scond world war, and still believed it had an empire. Boy how that was just about to change.

It was into this cauldron of change that I arrived.
