Lenasia South Youth Ambassadors is an an organization started by Mr. Vinish Nannan. The reason why he have started this organization or ( project ) is simply because he  has the youth and community at heart, so it is therefore that he took stock of the problems that  the community faces on a daily bases.

And the one thing that struck him was the youth and the problems and challenges they have to face which is merely the Suicide, Drugs, Alcohol, Physical and Mental Abuse and also the scars that it leaves for some of the youth and most of them do not have a support structure and they tend to take they own life.

The adults suffer the consequences and more important that most of these youth turn to the usage of drugs and alcohol to sustain and oppress their problems because drugs are found at schools and on every corner.

The suicide in and around the area is becoming a trend  because if you must look at statistics it is so common amongst the youth ,and most of the time it is the girls  that commits suicide, and most of them has or had a problem weather is personal or financial or even being bullied at school or raped at the house parties which is hosted by their colleagues which is known as (HOUZZAS) in South Africa Johannesburg this is where most of the girls get date raped and when they come to their senses  the next day or if they have been told about it via photos that are being showed at schools and public areas and in most cases there are video footages that goes viral these girls are embarrassed and rather not want to face they friends or the community and mainly their parents because they have being labelled and belittled . So this is when they think of the easy way out which committing suicide some of these girls live with these scars and then seek comfort with the wrong companies (Drug Users) they also turn to prostitution.

He has also seen children from broken homes that seek for comfort with these drug users and all this comes back to the parents as to how , when , what and why  all the questions are asked but the answers are still left blank because as parents and adults we tried to communicate with our children and being a parent  himself he knows if you speak to a child he /she will only listen whilst he/she is in your presence but then when he /she is out there in the streets with their friends all that was discussed is forgotten simply because the drugs and alcohol is available so freely the shouting that they received becomes pointless. So this is when the picture came to light when he decide who better to speak to then the youth that is totally against these habits and also to help them by getting other people like ex-drug and alcohol addicts to speak to them and steer them in the right direction.

He started to gathered youth and empowering them with a drug free programme, this today is the motto of the Ambassadors it is youth empowering youth to abstain from drugs, alcohol, substance abuse, rape and suicide.

This is where our slogan comes in Lending a Hand to Help Friend because most of the youth are friends in some way or the other. He has spoken to some people that are willing to help he need many other professional people to come on board on a voluntary bases this will an able him to help as many youth as possible as he know that these habits are common amongst the youth and most of them are unemployed which also opens doors for other criminal activities to get money to support their habits.

So he believe that with the help of various other rehabilitation programs we can eliminate the problem and habits that the youth are been attracted to.

He further would like to mention that some of the youth that are part of the Ambassadors are facing problems, and have addictions and others  have joined to help others with their problems and habits , so not all the Ambassadors are saints but all these Ambassadors have a common goal to (lending a hand to help a friend).

He do urges other youth from all walks of life may it be male or female to join his organization and clean the streets and give back to the community and make it safer and healthier environment to live in, all he wants is to be given an opportunity to make a difference.

The youth together with himself have started this project not for fame and glory but to serve and bring the community together and also he would want to go to all the schools in and round the area where the youth are abundant with the permission of the Principals and Teachers from the schools to host a champagne in order to raise an awareness.

The champagne will consist of the The Lenasia South Youth Ambassadors and some professional persons like councillors and ex-drug users and ex-alcoholics as well as physiologist that can assist the youths that are being traumatised etc.…

He does understand that this is a tall order but if we all put our hands together it will make work lighter.

He also want to point out that the organization has just started  and is still finding its feet so our mission is to empower other youth to abstain from drugs, alcohol, rape, woman and child abuse and also the SUICIDES. His big dream is to get a building that is dilapidated and revamp it into a centre where the youth can stay for a period of 6 months or longer if need be. He would want this centre to be able to teach the youth skills and offer them courses and workshops to enhance their ability to go out there and make a difference in their lives.

He urges youth who has a problem to contact him or the organization also if anyone would like to sponsor or pledge any donations it will be highly appreciated.

The Lenasia South Youth Ambassadors are currently based in South Africa, Gauteng Province, Lenasia South Ext 4.

Weekly meeting are held at the Sierra Nevada Primary School in ext .4
