Loss And Found by Louise E Hollamby
Lily Shaw attends the funerals of complete strangers. Her best friend, Will, has been secretly in love with her for seventeen years. Helena thinks they’re both slightly mental and wishes they’d move on and start living already.
A quirky black comedy about loss, friendship and internet dating where no-one’s motives are quite what they seem.
Hanna Berrigan - Director
With a background in theatre direction and television production, Hanna Berrigan is at a strong and pivotal stage in her career; poised to direct her first full- length film.
Hanna completed her formal education just over ten years ago, moving directly from a BA in English at Oxford, to RADA and King’s, where she received a Distinction for her practical dissertation on the MA in Text and Performance. She then worked as a production assistant and researcher in documentary television for a year.
Her first theatre job was in Germany as an assistant director. She returned to assist on what was to become the West End smash hit The Price starring Warren Mitchell and Larry Lamb.
She then trained at the Gate Theatre and the National Theatre Studio Directors Programme. Directing Credits for theatre include: Public Property (Trafalgar Studios), Slowly (The Wrestling School , Riverside Studios ), La Musica Deuxième (Gate), God is a DJ (Theatre 503), One Minute (3rd Year Graduate show, RADA), The Bald Prima Donna (Etcetera), Paradox (RSC Fringe Festival), Teenager of the Year (Latitude Festival). She was the Associate Director on The 39 Steps for 3 years, which involved directing the UK tour, full West End re-casts, and productions in Israel, Italy and Australia. Her production of Public Property was nominated for a WhatsonStage Best New Comedy award.
Between theatre directing jobs (direction being her first love), she has worked in television as a development producer (devising the creative brief for Discovery’s The Adventures of Mark and Olly amongst other things), casting director, voice-over director and researcher. She has also worked as an assistant director at the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre and the Royal Court, and has assisted Maria Aitken, Thea Sharrock , Erica Whyman, Bill Gaskill and David Farr. She is a long-term assistant to Howard Barker and an associate of The Wrestling School.
LOUISE E HOLLAMBY - Producer
Producer Louise E Hollamby founded Scorched Spoon Productions Ltd., an independent British production company, with her brother Alexander Hollamby in June 2011. They believe that the quality of a film starts and ends with a great story. In addition to producing The Bathroom they are currently working on active development for a feature film, Loss And Found - to be directed by acclaimed West End and Off-Broadway director Hanna Berrigan.
In this - as with all of their work - they want to utilise the very best of home grown talent and showcase it to a worldwide audience. Through partnership with industry contacts, local businesses and product placement deals with quality British brands, they strive to make films which satisfy their twin aims of artistic integrity and commercial success.
Scorched Spoon Productions Ltd. is an independent British production company run by sister and brother team Louise E Hollamby and Alexander Hollamby. We believe that the quality of a film starts and ends with a great story and are making our debut feature film, LOSS AND FOUND, because it possesses exactly that.
This is a highly personal film, set in Lincoln - close to the area in which we grew up - which gives us the chance to give something back to a community that has faced challenging economic and social conditions over recent years.
In this - as with all of our work - we want to utilise the very best of home grown talent and showcase it to a worldwide audience. Through partnership with the University of Lincoln, local businesses and product placement deals with quality British brands, we can combine to make LOSS AND FOUND a film which satisfies twin aims of artistic integrity and commercial success.
Brilliant West End and Off-Broadway director, HANNA BERRGIAN, will be making her film debut as our director and we are currently in the process of finalising the financing and development of the project.
We have just completed post-production for our first short film, THE BATHROOM - written and directed by talented playwright SAM PETER JACKSON and starring Olivier winning actress JANIE DEE and brilliant young actor REECE NOI. We have been lucky enough to have Grammy winning composer DAVID ARNOLD provide us with the score for this ten minute short and are excited about embarking on the festival trail with it shortly.
Our current slate also includes GENDER REASSIGNMENT - an ambitious short film by writer/director ADINA ISTRATE about a complicated love story between a wrestler and a pre-op transsexual and the development of a television project written by PETER WISE with JULIAN RHIND-TUTT and JANIE DEE attached to star.
We have a core team of hard working and talented collaborators, without whom we could not get any of this done, and we look forward to showing the world how phenomenal they all are. At least that's what they told us to say...
